Our dear friend and neighbor across the street, Jay Bryant Miller, was run over by his backhoe a few days ago. He is still in the hospital. He was born in our house and is now 84 years old. He takes care of his wife, two daughters, and two great-grandchildren. He runs a small farm and just retired from his full-time job last year. He is happy, kind, and full of energy and purpose. We pray he will be comforted and be able to recover. So many people depend on him for everything (I mean everything: rides to the doctor, help going to the bathroom, help up and down stairs, meals, cleaning, babysitting, etc.). He is amazing to do all he does even if he were a young man, but at 84....
We spent yesterday visiting neighbors, visiting teaching, and visiting the nursing home. It was a good day.
Today is back to normal routine of school and work. Hopefully, I can get a trip to Honeyville Grain in this afternoon. I get excited by the white buckets filling the basement. It's such a peaceful feeling.
Jaremy water fasted 24 yesterday. Jessica is still going; it's been 48 hours. We have been learning about the benefits of fasting. It's healthy to fast 1-2 days a week. I'm excited to try it, but I'm still nursing. So later.
Heavenly Father's hand is in everything! We are so blessed!

Wonderful Weekend
Saturday we enjoyed walking on the Jordan River Parkway while Jaremy ran almost 11 miles. He is amazing and so disciplined. He is such a good example to us! The day was a gorgeous, warm autumn blessing.
Jaremy fixed a leak in the coolant line with Hyrum in the afternoon. It was get bonding time.
In the evening Deborah (Jaremy's mom) and her husband, Robert, came to drop off oils and blankets for us. We later took them to dinner at a raw restaurant. It was good to visit. The food was delicious and healthy.
Sunday we went to Mom and Dad's for dinner. It was just them and our family. It was so nice to visit, eat Mom's amazing cooking, and go for a stroll on their long driveway.
Our parents are such a joy and blessing to us!!! Heavenly Father has blessed us with wonderful parents and the ability to visit them.

Copperton Park
This morning we went to Copperton Park to enjoy playing, walking, and running there. It has beautiful, mature trees. The whole town is tiny, old, and charming. Jessica, Benjamin, and I walked around the park while the other kids ran and played. We discussed the Ebola outbreak. Right now there are 3 Ebola patients in Dallas, Texas. We wonder how it will all play out. Will it just spark then go out or will it lead to a global pandemic? The news is crazy about it, but who knows. We live in interesting times. I'm so grateful to have the knowledge of the plan of happiness and salvation. If worse comes to worse and we get Ebola we are still fine. We may be healed by His power or we may die. But if we have lived righteously that is wonderful too. The only real tragedy is sin. Of course, watching your loved ones die in agony would be terrible, much worse than having it yourself. But the Lord supports us in our trials and afflictions if we are keeping His commandments and turning to Him. What peace comes from knowing that!

Leafing
On Saturday Jaremy ran his distance run, almost 9 miles. He is amazing!!!! We were his support vehicle. We let the kids play at a park at the half-way mark. They enjoyed rollerblading and playing at the jungle gym. Everybody came but Jessica and Ella. She was at work (Mathnesium, a math tutoring company). Jessica brought Ella because it was a fun day and thought Ella would enjoy it.
After the run we did some chores at home then went leafing up in the canyons. We enjoyed exploring, mountain biking, seeing the gorgeous fall leaves, listening to Hank the Cowdog, and just being together. We got home well after dark.
On Sunday after church and naps we went to Carolyn's house in Logan for Will's 7th birthday. It was fun to get together with extended family. I read my journal to Jaremy and the kids while we drove. I read the entries from 1995 when we were courting. We enjoyed that. We got home well after dark, around 11pm.
Heavenly Father is so good and kind to bless us with each other and with the opportunity to be together.

Timed 5K
Goal: To run a 5K before eating breakfast.
Great Idea: Run it around the park while the kids play and run at the park.
10:15
Made sure 12 shoes were found and placed on correct feet. Emptied the milks and filled baby's belly. Bound up the milks to avert black eyes. Ready to go.
Adelynn needed a t-shirt; she was too hot. Hyrum needed to pee; no surprise here. Natalie needed a drink and got distracted. Ella needed to change into running shorts. Tank didn't need to pee. Wait! On second thought... Now ready to go!
Forgot we didn't have a van. Loaded baby, tissue, binki, toys, phone, blankets, hat, helmet, and rollerblades into stroller. Unloaded rollerblades and helmet. Ignored totally flat tires. Now ready to go!
Walked a mile to the park while listening to biography on Alexander Hamilton. Planned how to fight the "big, mean dog" the kids said lurked around the corner. Ignored the dog; the dog ignored us.
Ran while kids watched the baby. Got 100 feet before the crying started. Ran a lap. Plugged a binki into the baby. Given puppy dog eyes and whimpering. Ran a lap. Set baby on blanket in the grass and let Natalie entertain him. Ran four more laps. Discovered a peculiar smell emanating from my young running partner who claimed to be only "a little bit poopy." Discovered two-year-olds are very good at estimating size. Discovered we didn't have a diaper kit sufficient for current hazmat disaster.
Made sure 12 shoes were found and placed on correct feet. (Barefootie running had been embraced.) Scolded slow-pokes because baby was screaming now. Strapped "Stinkie" next to "Squawker." Gave up on useless binki and just walked faster.
Walked a mile to Ivy 'n Pine while listening to biography on Alexander Hamilton and Jebers fussing. Planned how not to bring the kids running again. Ignored the crying; crying baby fell asleep.
Sanitized two-year-old.
Pulled, tugged, and yanked sports bras off. Nursed until baby was content and happy. Dressed in chest armor once again. Chugged some water. Relieved bladder. Left sweet baby with sweet Natalie.
12:10
Finished my 5K in under 2 hours! Cherished the excitement of 3 children who finished with me!
Skipped breakfast. Fixed lunch.

Running at the Park
This morning I'm taking the kids running at the park. We will take ten minute turns with the baby while the others run. I will be just running around the park, so I will be close. After the kids finish their two miles they can play on the jungle gym while I keep going. I'm only running for 45 minutes; that's about a 5K for me right now.
Jaremy is doing awesome at his running. He is trying to get the rest of us on board. When we run as a family and have running goals together amazing things happen. Family unity increases, we stay motivated, we make tons of great memories, and running becomes super fun! So I will plan some fun 5Ks and a few 10Ks. In Logan we did ice cream runs, free community runs, barefoot, mud runs, trail runs, runs in different places, etc. It was stinking awesome!!! So I will get on it!
My big goal for the rest of the year is to give Jaremy an amazing birthday present. Okay, I'm being selfish, because it will be wonderful for me too. I will be down to 115 pounds, have a firm, flat tummy, and defined legs that are able to run a half marathon. I will run that half marathon the week before his birthday, December 29th. So I will run it on the 22nd. We will get away for the night for his birthday! This goal will help me improve my health, endurance, intimacy, and confidence. I'm determined and excited!!! Of course, true character is developed when you keep your goals when the excitement of setting them is long gone. I will!!!
I'm so grateful Heavenly Father has given us these miraculous bodies and the enjoyment they provide!

General Conference
I love the spirit that comes into our home during Conference weekend. Our whole family prays we can continue feeling the Holy Ghost and that we can live what we have been so beautifully taught. What a blessing to be taught by prophets in our home!
