Things Undone

Everyday there are things left undone.  Our yard looks pretty neglected.  The grass won't green up no matter what we do.  The soil is very poor.  There are weeds that we mow next to the road, because I don't believe in spraying.  We can't yet plant the flower garden in front of the porch because we will just ruin it when we rebuild the porch.  There are weeds growing in the cracks of the driveway, which are many.  All in all the place looks pretty redneck.  However, we work hard on it.  We have a huge garden (with harldy a weed) wrapped around the entire lot.  I'm excited about that.

The inside of the house is slowly improving.  Still Jessica is embarrassed to have friends come over.  So am I.  Yet I can't worry about what other people think.  We are doing the best we can with the time and resources we have.  That's all that matters to Heavenly Father.  I love our little place.

I know my extended family is disappointed in me, but I can't worry about that.  I've got precious, little ones to teach and train and have fun with.  That's so much more important than winning "Yard of the Month."I have no money and limited time to work with. So I must not let myself worry about people judging us.  Our family enjoys our life and yard.  That's what counts.  I enjoy it very much.  I just don't enjoy being judged, but I better get over that.  I'm grateful Heavenly Father has given us this beautiful place to live.  I'm grateful for thick stone walls.  My style is so different than others, but I love it.  So I have to trust my heart and not give a second's thought so what others might think.
