Team Captain - Jessica
We are training as a family for a 50-mile relay from one lake to another in St. George in a month. Jessica is our Team Captain. Our team name is Fasto Bohunkus. Jessica has taken the job pretty seriously. She's had us watch an inspirational movie clip. She's made running assignments, tracking charts, and maps. She's made us commit to running our miles by asking each person, "Will you run 13 miles this week?" We each said yes, so we had to keep our word. She has given us a hard time (joked around with us) when we were a bit behind. She challenged our team to run to Salt Lake City this week in miles. But the most motivational part of her leadership has been her example. She ran long and hard before anyone else really took it serious. She ran when it was late and she was tired. She put in the miles while the rest of us did other things. That got my attention and respect. We couldn't let her do it alone. So we put in our miles too. In fact, Benjamin and I finished our last mile after 10:30pm on Saturday. It felt great to meet a goal as a family. The little kids ran like crazy and made up for some miles Jaremy didn't run. We made in to Salt Lake. Now we are working on running to St. George in the next 3.5 weeks. It's lots of fun! Jaremy was the first one out of the gate this morning. He got up before 5:30am and ran on the treadmill. The kids gave him a rough time about not running all his miles last week. It's so funny to watch them tease their dad. He is serious about it now! I can't let my team down. I've got to be able to run a bit faster so I'm not the flat tire. I'm so grateful Heavenly Father has given me this amazing team - my family.
