Managers of Their Homes

Managers of Their Homes is a great book I just discovered about organizing large, homeschooling families. Because we are in a rather unique group it takes special methods of organization. I had been praying for help in running a Christ-centered home where we were able to accomplish what we needed to educate the kids, serve others, keep up with housework, etc. I know Heavenly Father inspired this couple to write this book. It really has helped! and will help immensely in the future. Heavenly Father guides us to people, books, movies, websites, etc. where we can gain the knowledge and inspiration we need. I know He answered my specific prayer for help in organizing our large family. I'm so grateful!

Train Your Dragon

For Pack Meeting the kids and I made a dragon pinata. We had a lot of fun designing and building together while we listened to "Little Britches." Those books are amazing! I'm so grateful we can be inspired and entertained by them as a family as we drive, clean, eat, or build pinatas.

At pack meeting, the Cub Master was very organized, prepared, and took the opportunity to share his testimony. He reminded us we all have dragons to train; be it, our mattress, our appetite, our temper, etc. We must strive to overcome the natural man. Heavenly Father let us feel his Spirit and I came away encouraged to train my dragons.

Early Spring

I can't believe it! It's been about 70 degrees the last few days. It's wonderful and fun! I'm grateful for the sunshine! So are the kids.

We've been blessed with safety as our kids do crazy tricks on skates.

Day Off

Jaremy took the day off to contour the yard for irrigation. He is digging shallow troughs that wind around the yard like a stream. He is brilliant! I'm so grateful he shares my love of dirt! We also share a love of family, literature, politics, remodeling, driving, Moab, running, hiking, camping, architecture, etc. I am totally in love with my best friend! I'm so blessed that Heavenly Father saw fit to yoke us together! Jaremy makes me want to pull hard and strong! And he makes my life fun, exciting, and beautiful while we plow along. I'm the happiest wife in the world!

Melly & Duke

Our neighbors, the Millers, have two adorable children. They were not born to a married couple. Their grandparents and relatives have asked me to teach them preschool and how to behave. A few days ago I had prayed to somehow help children who might suffer. This was after studying Elder Oaks talk, "Protect the Children." I told Heavenly Father I would love to adopt orphans or whatever I could of he would bless me with the resources and ability. The next day Sister Miller asked me to help. Many people have asked me to home school their children. I Always say no because I'm so overwhelmed by carrying for my own. And usually the people that ask me have the ability to care for their own children. But this time I felt it was an answer to my prayer. I am grateful for this opportunity to share the gospel and Heavenly Father's love. So Duke (1 1/2) and Melly (3) have come for the last two days for 4 hours. They love it! Our kids love it! Heavenly Father is blessing me with greater capacity and love. It's a miracle! For which I'm grateful.

Jaremy's Work

I'm so grateful for Goal Zero. They are so focused on enabling their people. Jaremy just shared another wonderful seminar which they had at work about goals and success. It's really helping our family too! Heavenly Father has a plan for us and is helping us learn what we need to in order to build His Kingdom and fulfill our missions on Earth. We are here to succeed gloriously!

Cousins

Today we were going to go to the Leonardo with our cousins but it was to crowded, so we  changed plans and went to the Zoo. I like the zoo mostly because there is a lot of good parcore stuff. I mostly do jumping. At the zoo there was a talking Perot, and that was a fun part of the zoo. Adelynne really liked the monkeys she would say like a ha for the monkey sound of who ha ha. We are very blessed to have fun cousins and a fun zoo quite close and most of all an adorable little sister.

The Van

It is such a blessing to have a van that runs great!  I can have a sleeping baby in the car and read while the older kids play at the park.  We do this kind of thing all the time.  It's a blessing to be close together sharing memories.

Primary Songs

Recently I remembered when my older ones were little I would play Primary songs in the background to invite the Spirit. For some reason I got out of the habit. But I've been trying it lately. It can add to the noise level. Everyone doesn't just quietly go about their activities with a song/prayer in their heart. Which is probably why I quit playing the music in the first place. However, do think it is a way to invite the Holy Ghost. Even if it inspires us to speak a little more kindly, pray a little more, or act with a bit more reverence it will be worth the effort. I'm so glad Heavenly Father blessed us with sacred music.

Moroni's Ordination

Today my wonderful son, Moroni, was ordained to the office of a deacon.  Moroni is strong and determined! He has a determination to stand for the right regardless of the consequences. He is a sweetheart with a big heart! I feel so blessed and humbled to be his mom. I learn so much from him! I love my dear Moroni!
